Our Vibe

Artfully merchandised, our 600 square foot marketplace offers an inviting blend of cozy historic and bright airy aesthetics. Illuminated by expansive windows and detailed with live edge wood finishings, Oregon City Market honors the deep, interconnected roots of our region.

Our circular logo, inspired by the timeless postmark stamp, features a Camas flower, Oregon City’s Municipal Elevator, and Oregon’s state tree, the Douglas fir, each meaningful symbols of the region we’re proud to call home.

Regional Roots

Oregon City is located on the ancestral lands of the Clowwewalla (Charcowah), Cashhooks, and Molalla tribes, with the Clackamas (Upper Chinookan) tribe nearby. The Willamette Falls (Tumwata) was an essential salmon fishing site for Indigenous people for thousands of years and a major regional trading hub, drawing diverse tribes to the region. This homeland was largely lost when Euro-Americans settlers arrived. Today, there is renewed optimism that Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde will be successful in creating tumwata village at the Willamette Falls.

Established in 1829 as a lumber mill and trading post, Oregon City became the first incorporated city west of the Rocky Mountains in 1844. Not surprisingly, the first business in Oregon City was a store.
